After several years in this leadership position, Rev. Geddes and his wife moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to accept another ministerial role.  There, he pastored Solid Rock Assembly of God Church from 1983 to 1986. This leadership role provided the opportunity for Rev. Darrell to be involved in the growth of a small church in a rural community.

In 1986, Rev. Darrell and his family returned to Chicago where they served as the senior associates at Southside Worship Center under the leadership of Rev. Spencer Jones, for five years. Once again, in 1991, the Geddes family heeded the call and accepted another career and ministerial opportunity. While on staff, Darrell developed the Urban Ministries Major and the accompanying curriculum.  In addition to teaching at NCU Rev. Geddes completed his Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling/Care at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

After nine years of successful ministry at North Central, Darrell accepted the position of Executive Director at Urban Leadership Academy in 2000. This positon focused on leadership development and service learning as part of a senior high school program. While serving in this capacity at Urban Leadership Academy, Darrell also accepted the position of Senior Pastor at Christ Church International. Rev. Geddes and his wife Dr. Edna Geddes have been pastoring at Christ Church International for the last 15 years. One of their primary focuses is to challenge the congregants to ‘touch their community, one family, one life at a time.’
