Darrell Geddes

Senior Pastor
Rev. Darrell John Geddes, Sr. is the second son of Verner Sr. and Marguerite Geddes of Chicago, Illinois. Rev. Darrell was born in Chicago and attended St. Felicitas Elementary and Leo High School before moving to Minnesota to attend North Central University.  While there, he met his wife, Edna Cook, also from Chicago, Illinois.  Rev. Darrell has been involved in various types of active ministry for the past thirty seven years. In 1980 after graduation from North Central University, he and his wife Edna accepted the position of Youth Pastors at Southside Tabernacle Church, located on the south side of Chicago. After several years in this leadership position, Rev. Darrell and his wife moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to accept another ministerial role.  There, he pastored Solid Rock Assembly of God Church from 1983 to 1986. This leadership role provided the opportunity for Rev. Darrell to be involved in the growth of a small church in a rural community.
In 1986, Rev. Darrell and his family returned to Chicago where they served as the senior associates at Southside Worship Center under the leadership of Rev. Spencer Jones, for five years. Once again, in 1991, the Geddes family heeded the call and accepted another career and ministerial opportunity. They returned to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he joined the faculty of North Central University. While on staff, Darrell developed the Urban Ministries Major and the accompanying curriculum.  In addition to teaching at NCU Rev. Geddes completed his Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling/Care at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
After nine years of successful ministry at North Central, Darrell accepted the position of Executive Director at Urban Leadership Academy in 2000. This position focused on leadership development and service learning as part of a senior high school program. While serving in this capacity at Urban Leadership Academy, Darrell also accepted the position of Senior Pastor at Christ Church International. Rev. Darrell and his wife Dr. Edna Geddes have been pastoring at Christ Church International for the last 15 years. One of their primary focuses is to challenge the congregants to ‘touch their community, one family, one life at a time.’
As a member of the National Black Fellowship of the Assemblies of God, Darrell was appointed as the secretary in 2016 and holds the position of a General Presbyter within the movement. This is the second highest governing body within the Assemblies.
Lastly, Rev. Darrell and wife Edna, are the proud parents of 2 children, daughter Tiffany and Son in Law Stephen, who are the parents of their grandchildren Chloe and Caleb and son Darrell, Jr. and wife Katie.
